It could depend on a lot of factors--The fact is that batteries die super fast in the cold. Try to keep them warm when you can.
Good Luck

Battery dying is no problem. Im talking about permanent damage to the mic. Would cold do that?

I got mine here:

Very good prices, and shipping was reasonable, and fast.

I'm no authority on microphones, but suppose it would be similar to other electronic equipment; main problems in temperature extremes usually arise from condensation & humidity. Personally, I'd wait AT LEAST a few hours (if not a day or two) letting the equipment return to room temperature & dry thoroughly before running power through it. Ice crystals & humidity would make water droplets similar to the outside of a soda can on anything taken quickly from frigid cold to room temperature. Anything electronic could easily short-out if moisture gets into its guts.
My 2 cents.

I would be more concerned about the camera than the mic. Can you even use film and consumer grade video tape at sub-zero temperatures?

Thats not a problem. I already did a while ago. The battery lasts 1/2 as long though.
